Saturday, July 16 and all roads led to Castlewellan for members of the European Angus Cattle Society and participation in the 44th Annual Castlewellan Agricultural Show.
The Society and its members have been exhibiting at the County Down show for a number of years now.
On the day large crowds turned out despite the somewhat mixed weather. There were heavy periods of rain throughout the day but it didn’t dampen spirits or proceedings.

With high standards of livestock in the European Angus breed on show judging on the day was left to Mr Robert Currie from Ballymoney.
After careful consideration Mr Andrew Magowan’s cow, Kiltariff Lady Jemima was named Champion.
Reserve Champion was Harry McGaffin’s bull, Darnley Hill Percival from the Scottish herd of Catherine Lawson.
